Short update time! It’s reading week, so I’m slapping down some of the crap I’ve done over the last month and a half. I didn’t save a lot of it off the server, but mayhaps I’ll just make an entire post for storyboarding later.

A few artses:

Also, the following videos are variations of my weight lift toss assignment.

This is version one of two, drawn completely by me. See the second for a more entertaining dog animation.

This is version two of two, the old woman was animated by me and the dog was animated by Johnny Koester. He animated it in two hours and with only a feet plan to go on, so I’m verrah impressed and extremely grateful, O:!

That’s all for now, darlings. I’ll try and remember to snag my icky storyboard from the server when next I’m at the school.

Hello everyone~! My all of five visitors! Haha, <3.

I’ve started second year of animation and I’m absolutely thrilled to be doing what I’m doing. Although I’ve yet to fall into a routine, I’m definitely digging the fact that we have desks this year. Ask anyone; I’ve gone completely overboard in decorating it. [But I maintain that there are still a fewwww blank spots I can fill. Gwen, send me stuffff already, <3!]

Also, for anyone interested in character design, I’m hosting a little contest over on dA [though I guess it’s not affiliated with my dA at all, I just posted it there for maximum exposure.] If you’re curious, you can read more about it here: [link!]

Over the summer, I kept myself busy with artwork, as I previously mentioned in this infrequently updated blog, both online and offline. And although holding down two low paying jobs didn’t leave me much time to complete what I wanted to before the school year started again, I’m quite proud with my progress, regardless. It’s been a tough summer, including losing my grandfather suddenly. I loved him dearly, and he made me my animation desk - he even carved the circle by hand. I’ll cherish it forever, and certainly make good use of it, especially this year!

So anyway, enjoy, and as always, click the thumbnail for a larger view!

Art of my original character, Suds. Her backstory is complicated, and there’s no such creature as her, but she can be described as a rainbow hamster-lizard with antenna and the ability to curl up like a potato bug. She’s cute and naive and everyone loves her~!

Miscellaneous works. Left to right: character portraits of some of my OCs, a damn complicated commission for Gaia, and myself as an artsy robot drawn after seeing Wall*E!

Hiccups related art. Click the link down and to the left, on the sidebar, if you’re super curious about my Hiccups project. These are toddler and child artworks I did for the project, for various people, including myself, yay. Oh, and the shapeshifter lady is in there too, just in case you think I think children have boobs. Hahaha.

My three main characters. I love them to pieces! So, finally, I found them deserving of full body artwork, especially since I need accurate references if I want to get people to draw them for me. [Hint hint, nudge nudge! ;D..] Anywho, no, these are not the only outfits they will ever wear, they are not those kinds of characters. And yes, for Ink, the last one, my influence was totally and completely the actor Joe Anderson; I’ve had the character for six years and only now have I found the perfect visual reference!

I’ll wrap up this incredibly massive art post by sending my love out to all of you for stopping on by, <3.

.. okay, I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s a life changing experience, but my site has a new layout! After mud-wrestling with css and div layers, I came out victorious, and this is the lovechild of that victory. I’ve decided I’ll only be layout changing once a year, unless I’m love-tapped upside the head by a new idea. Most likely the first one.Okay, I’ve done a bunch of art since last I updated, mainly to keep busy, but also for some extra money. As per usual, click the thumbnails to see more:

The last two were commissions, the first and third part of the roleplay I run, and the second some TMNT fanart done on Facebook’s graffiti program. I’m also horribly addicted to tegaki, so if you want to check out my sketches on there, here is the link!

I also had the pleasure of teaching two classes for grade twos on motion/movement in art. The first lesson we did, we made flipbooks! It was such a success, the children took to it SO well. Like, there was a girl who made a bunny disappear in the distance, and a boy who had a tiger chase bees who turned around and chased him instead, hahaha. SO CUTE.

The time I came back, I showed them my animations, and by that point they understood how much effort goes into their favourite shows. I think a little too well, actually. One girl told me she can’t watch cartoons anymore because it makes her sad to know all the time that went into them. I was like, D: D: D: Nooo, appreciate the effort and DO watch them! Whoops, hahaha. But we did sequential art, so basically comics. A lot of duds there, they had a tough time thinking of stories and just wanted me to draw Pikachu and stuff, but one hearing impaired boy drew a Spiderman comic, and another boy an Indiana Jones comic, so I thought those were adorable and totally worth it, hehe!

Plus, I got a million little kid hugs, I’m supposedly the best artist in the world in their eyes, and they scream my name like I’m a celebrity whenever I’m at that school. Geeeez, this ego needs to be taken down a peg! I was invited back for next year, which I’m thrilled about. Looks great on the resume, ;D.

Love and limes,
~Phoo!
