This is the art blog of Sheridan College animation student Vanessa Stefaniuk, who is currently in her third year of studies. This blog contains silliness of all levels, and may include a generous helping of eye candy and animation.
This update was supposed to come last weekend. However, my new layout is still glitchy on some screens, and makes the content disappear to the bottom. I’m doing my best to fix this. Sorry if you’re currently reading it like that.
More bad news: my computer is in for repairs. He just.. won’t turn on. I’m really, really hoping everything is okay - I have Apple Care, so the replacement parts are at no cost to me, but the guy at the Genius Bar said if I had to pay for said parts, I’d be better off buying a new computer. Oh God, I hope all my files are okay..
Now, this summer, I have spent a great deal of time drawing. It was basically my only source of income; not the smartest of decisions, but I still did fairly well for myself.
First: Hiccups. If you still don’t know what Hiccups are, refer to any previous post, or the link on the left.
Phew. Another reason why I REALLY need access to my own computer files - I have about 10 more of these guys to go before the summre is out.
These are speedpaints, both commissions and the results of my own doodling:
These are miscellaneous summer commissions and drawings:
Summer fanart:
And lastly, just a select few sketches:
Goodness, I’ve drawn a lot. I hope these next few weeks doesn’t prove any different! Gotta stay fresh! Third year is going to be quite the challenge, so I’ll need every single skill I can muster up.
Hey everyone, I’m back again with some eye candy! Please note, also, that all of my work can be seen in the subpages, links located to the left of your screen. The animation pages have now been updated, and the gallery is under constant updates.
And more Hiccups, including my all time favourite, Sid! He’s the one with the long tongue.
We’re into the last month of school, so, of course, there are projects upon projects yet to be completed. Let’s hope we all stay afloat in this sea of a workload! Cheers.
Hey blogosphere! What’s happenin’? I’m up to my ears in schoolwork, but I found the time (at 1am, mind you) to fight with my gallery script and bring you some of the rad recent work I’ve completed.
Animation:
I have some complaints, and will come to fix this one in time, but overall, I’m pleased. I love the cat animation most, hilariously, as this was a human lip sync assignment. Sound is from The X-Files, quite obviously.
Storyboarding snippets:
Select sequences from my previously posted Leica Reel.
Most recent completed storyboarding assignment. I was given verse seven of a song sequence that involved the boards of half of my classmates, working on the same story. A precursor to next year, I suppose! It was an interesting experience, though it is probably notable that the story I was given to work with sort of cut itself off into a separate division already, and thus was a stand-alone piece from the entire leica experience.
Character Design:
Thematic character design assignment involving extensive research on the time period it involves. I chose to depict medieval times: the Epic Lesbionic Romantic Tale of Confusion and Lust, as I have so lovingly nicknamed it. We have begun to take these characters into the storyboarding stage, and will suckle this dry through a huge layout project as well as digital painting. So it’s a good thing I love my characters.. or there’d be much sadness.
Select scans from my caricaturing sketchbook, as well as character expression sheets derived from specific caricatures done in our observational sketchbooks. Mine happened to be animal themed: leopard print for the gal and zebra for the guy. Yayyyy.
I think that’s it folks! See you after the next wave.
